Hi everyone, how are you? i hope your doing very very well. I thought that today i would cover a subject that i have not covered on my blog before. That subject is Glee. I began to watch Glee during the pandemic and being fully enraptured by the show. I have watched every episode numerous times, and i listen to the covers of the songs frequently. Today i thought that i would share my top 5 unpopular (or popular) Glee opinions. I hope you enjoy this post and i hope you have a wonderful day.
5. I like Terri Schuester: Terri Schuester first made her appearance in Season 1 as Will Schuester’s wife. Terri Scheuster is introduced as a compulsive (maybe slightly manipulative) woman who was a popular, cliche cheerleader in high school. Because i don’t want to spoil anything for people who haven’t watched the show yet, i am not going to to talk in depth about the climatic storyline that revolved around Terri and Will during season 1. However, i will talk about why so many people dislike Terri. From the beginning of the show Will was always perceived as the ”hero” of glee. He saved the glee club, he supported all of his students and he was a genuinely nice person. Many fans were upset over the fact that Will had such a horrible partner on the show. Terri tried to convince Will to quit his job as a teacher and become an accountant instead. She lied about something that negatively affected their relationship forever and she treated will very badly. However, i don’t think that Terri is all bad. All villains have soft sides, and i think that Terri is a very good example of this. Terri is obviously not very mentally stable and so she releases her anger onto the people that she loves. I’m not going to stand beside Terri and say that the things she did were wrong, however i think that people are too critical about her and she should be treated better. After the horrible situation between Will and Terri ended she began to take meds and she also began to see a therapist. I believe that she wanted to get better and i think that we should recognize that and be a little nicer about her.
4: I love Run Joey Run. I’m not sure if this applies as an unpopular opinion as i know many people like Run Joey Run as well. I think that it’s a great cover. Obviously it’s not a well written song but i think that it’s simply iconic, and it deserves more love.
3: I hate the episode The End Of Twerk. It was such a clumsily written episode. There were so many strange things about it. The first thing that i had a problem with about this episode was the fact that Sue didn’t allow Unique to use the girls bathroom. Unique primarily identified as a female for the entirety of the show. The second thing i had a problem with in this episode was the fact that Will sung an incredibly sexual and inappropriate song in front of minors and made it seem like he was trying to stay relevant. It all seemed like the writers wanted everyone to hate Will in that moment. The final reason why i hated this episode was because it was handled so clumsily. The writers could’ve made the episode into something beautiful and thought provoking they could’ve made the episode about gender identity and gender equality in high school and America, but they handled it arrogantly and instead made it all a big running joke.
