Hello Everyone, How are you? i hope your doing very well. I know that it’s been a long time but i thought that today i would enlighten you all in something that i have seen many people do and it’s called the musical theatre tag. It’s a series of questions about theatre and musicals that you answer honestly. I thought that today i would complete it. I hope you enjoy and i also hope that you have a wonderful day!
1: What is the first musical you ever saw: The first musical that i ever saw was My Fair Lady written and composed by Frederick Lowe. It’s a fun, lighthearted entertaining musical about a woman named Eliza Doolittle who owns a flower shop in London. There she meets Henry Higgins a high class phonetics teacher who tells Eliza that he could teach her how to speak properly and with his expertise could pass her off as a dignified society woman at the annual Embassy Ball. They end up falling in love and having a very happy life together. All i remember is being completely enraptured in the performance and having a wonderful time at the young age of 3.
2: What was your favourite musical growing up: When i was little there were many musicals that i loved including Guys and Dolls, Oklahoma and Suessical. But the musical that i think about when i think about my early childhood i think of Annie. I used to love Annie. I think i found it quite relatable, Annie had curly hair (and so did i) Annie also had a happy go lucky attitude (and i do too.) There was something about her character that was very interesting and entertaining. I also loved the songs. Especially Tomorrow. My parents even have a video of me on my couch sining it at the age of 2 or 3. Can you imagine!
3: Were you ever in a musical: Haha! Yes! two actually! The first musical that i’ve been in is surprise surprise… Annie! Coincidence? Who knows. All i know is that it was a wonderful experience for me. Getting to play the lead role Annie was a really fun experience. The other show that i have been in is Matilda the musical which i am currently in rehearsal for! I am one of two girls playing Matilda and i couldn’t be happier. I’m in love. The songs are entertaining and beautiful the story is a classic and one we all know and love and the character is so diverse and complex that it’s really fun to play. I am so excited to begin shows and play the character in front of an audience.
4: What was the first musical you ever saw on Broadway: The first and only musical i have seen on Broadway was Oklahoma with the Broadway Cast including Ali Stroker and Damon Daunno. I saw it with my grandmother and it was an experience that i will never forget.
I hope you enjoyed this blog post and i hope you have a good day!
